Day 1: Recap…. 3:30 a.m. wake up. Bus to Seattle, walk thru Seattle & across I90. Thru Bellevue. Lunch with family. Hills. Hills. Hills. Walked to Marymoor park. Lots of familiar faces (walkers, teams, crew, Seattle PD on bicycles, walker stalkers). Walk, walk, walk. Made it to camp, got lots of mail. Lots of traffic cz of The Lumineers concert. Dinner (yum), awards for our awesome team, a littl…e rain and a nice hot shower. Lots of texts from friends today (love) Feeling overall pretty good! Definitely feeling loved. Tomorrow brings about 21 miles. Possible rain. Hopefully more walker stalkers! #sorrynotsorry for all the posts today. Just a couple more days and I’ll be back to posting kitty pictures and food porn. Love ya all!!
Day 2 of The 3-Day. The day of hills! Started at Marymoor Park, walked to and thru Kirkland. Then back thru Redmond ending at Marymoor Park. Sounds easy, huh? Haha. Talk about hills! Up hill, down hill, short hill, long hill. Steep hill, long steep windy hill. You name it! 22+ something Komen miles today. “Almost there” (suuuure) But what a great day! Ronda and I hauled it and walked thru the finish as walkers #128 and #129 of over 1000 walkers. Surprise visits from Ronda’s Brother, Daughter and Hubby! Inspirational camp show tonight. π Not a drop of rain. Husky blow out. #WOOF! π Tomorrow is Day 3 and will conclude our journey for this year.Β Positive thoughts for no rain please!Β Night night
Day 3: Seattle 3-Day. Holy cow, we’re done?! Wow. That went fast! π What a great day. We started off going thru the UW campus, then up to the Locks, over into Magnolia, down to the waterfront, then back up where we ended at Seattle Center. (About 17 Komen miles) Mine and Ronda’s strategy was to stay out in front of the rain. We did great! The rain stayed away till the last couple miles. The team walks in together and since we were at our meeting place with a couple of hours to spare, we decided to find somewhere dry that we could enjoy our own “pit stop” for a while. Maybe even catch some of the Seahawks game. π When it was time to rejoin the team, we did and walked in together. My Hubby, kids and Mom were waiting for me at the finish! οΈ Off to closing ceremonies, out to The Rock for dinner and now -home. Amazing weekend. We’ll keep on trucking until there’s a cure!! Thank you for your support!
